OUR ART SPECTATORS - A seminar on the changing audience conditions and its consequences. 19-20 May, 2009.
In this seminar, organized by KOP- Network for art and audience questions we got to share scenario with important people form the art environment such as Lars Nittve from Moderna Muséet, Peter Gorschlüter from Tate Liverpool and Jacob Fabricius from Konsthallen in Malmo. We were invited to talk about the model we work with at Stapelbäddsparken. Some of the important points of our presentation were:
* We don’t believe there are “creative and not creative people” we think everyone can be creative if they get the right opportunity to show it.
*New exchange economy.
* Stapelbäddsparken is not for everyone, but everyone is welcome!
When the Sun Comes Out…Work in Progress
For a year ago, I started thinking about making this installation where light combines with different objects, materials and paint, creating new forms while the light travels around like the sun does… Might not be something new…but i feel the urge for trying it out..So I was out taking some photos that could help me for inspiration.
I dont consider myself an artist…and I apologize to all of you who went to art school I just feel sometimes the need to re-create and modify the beauty that I see around me. I don’t know if it will become something…but at least I can stop thinking about it and start trying it out…
ARTIST 4 A DAY: LowTech LiteBrite
Sweden is a very dark country during the winter. You learn then how to make your life a little bit cozier with candles, and strategic placed lamps. I started getting interested in how light affects your mood and how it can also be used in art. After one year trying to get into Light Installation course in Malmö Högskola, I finally got in the fall of 2008. As a part of the course we had to build our own light installation as a final project. I presented the concept Low-Tech Lite Brite to my group and they liked its so we stared building it.
LowTech LiteBrite used the same principle of a lighted board, but instead of pegs I used filter pieces. This gives the user the freedom to combine colors and create forms or abstract images.
