STPLN's deco- Work in Progress

STPLN Work in Progress - slideshow dvd>STPLN Work in Progress - slide show

I don’t really know why I’m blogging right now when I know I should be on my way to bed, but these days have been crazy and I guess I need to get it out of my system!

STPLN the organization I work for, is opening the new building this 31st of March. We have been waiting almost 3 years for this moment … we are very excited. But as in any big project things don’t always go as smooth as we expect…

We were supposed to get access to the building the 7ths of March but the whole building process was delayed so we lost a week on that, the girl hired to assist me in the production of the program for the opening jumped off when the production process had already started, and the guy that was supposed to work with me with the decoration also decided he didn’t had time to do it, on the same day we were having our first planning meeting…CHAOS!

So I called around and thank god Sophie Uesson accepted the job and started working right away, she has been a great support and a very effective element in this production! I simply love working with her! Then I heard about Pontus Bahrtine  from a friend of mine, I contacted him and he also accepted to start working immediately on building the bar and wardrobe, he came up with a beautiful concept! Some other people that has been helping out: David Cuartielles, David Sjunesson, Ana Seravalli, Måns Adler, Bertil Björk, Ola Sturesson, Caroline Lundholm, Davey…

Anyway… These images can give you an idea of what we’ve been up to…

Ill tell you more about the concept for the decoration when everything is done and I can take some good pics …these are just work in progress images…

Tjingeling.

Strawberry Letter 23 Shuggie Otis

The Song of the Week//

Shuggie Otis - Strawberry Letter 23

Ignore the fact that there are thousands of versions of this song… Shuggie wrote it when he was only 16 years old, to his girlfriend who used strawberry-scented paper when sending letters to him..

“Pretty music I hear, so happy and loud. Blue flower echo from a cherry cloud”

ABOUT ME by OTHERS: Ola Persson

image

Ola Persson, Student at Creative Service Leadership.

Describe her work in one word: Limitless

We met at Stapelbäddsparken during a workplacement while studying, my goal was to gain an insight of project management within the culture sector, with Oyuki leading the way.. I was thrown into it.

Since then we worked together during several projects where the most extensive one has been I LOVE ROBOTS which was created and managed by Oyuki. The project met many challenges in form of a narrow time aspect, limited personal and work space. To make the project possible Oyuki put together a team of very talanted people with different backgrounds and skills that complemented eachother on a great level. With the limited resources in consideration, she made the group to perform over what was expected from any observer.

With a natural feel for creativity, a focused and overlooking managing skill Oyuki creates the atmosphere and platform which inspire people. The difference is that some people try to meet expectations while Oyuki reaches goals with a great inner vision. This is the quality that makes her work not “good enough” but clearly excellent.

Writer and filmmaker Carl-Henrik Svenstedt contacted us and asked if we were interested to be a part of his book about the cultural development in the city of Malmo. He heard of our project De Dödas Festival (The festival of the dead) and though the way we worked and the theme of the subject were quite interesting.  We were off course interested!! Some of the other projects that were also in the book were people like: Suzanne Naffah from Din Gata, Politician Luciano Astudillo, Daniel Strausser who brought yoga to Malmo and Björn Stenbäck who started the first ecologic restaurant in this city, just to mention a few.
